Honest, Fair Representation...

As your representative in Raleigh, I will listen to your concerns and vote accordingly. I will do what it takes to make sure Gaston County students have the teachers, supplies and the curriculum needed to compete in today's global economy. Our state continues to receive federally mandated programs which are not funded. The "No Child Left Behind" program is not funded and it is NOT working. Job opportunities and the economy are NOT good. I will use my many years of military, business and civic experience to provide leadership in solving these problems. Gaston County needs a leader in the NC House who will confront issues to replace the Representative who has NOT delivered on campaign promises. This Representative's current effectiveness ranking is 107 out of 119 legislatures! He has one of the worst absentee records in the House of Representatives (9 1/2 days during his first session!) Gaston County needs a representative who will be PRESENT and will represent our interests. We need better ideas, and we need action. As your Representative, I will work to get us moving forward. Please vote for me so I can be your vote in the North Carolina House of Representatives.

Goals and Concerns for the 108th District and North Carolina

“Eddie fought for his Country and will fight for you in the NC General Assembly”

Schools: -Improve funding, expand current facilities. Ensure that money from the lottery goes to the schools and not other purposes. –Rewards and incentives to train, recruit and retain teachers.

Jobs: -Improvements in education to recruit industry and retain our present industry. –Find tenants for the empty industrial facilities across our district.

Healthcare: -Ensure that everyone has access to affordable healthcare.

Seniors: -Healthcare, property taxes, medical & energy costs are pressing issues that seniors struggle to meet on fixed incomes. They need immediate relief!

Fiscal Responsibility: -As your Representative: It is my belief that we can meet these goals and still be fiscally responsible. Our citizens are over-burdened with taxes. We must wisely manage our resources and invest them responsibly. We must cut waste, find new and better paying job opportunities for our state. We can meet these goals without tax increases through growth. We can then look for additional means to cut taxes.
